| Top priority is to create a business-friendly environment in California, to staunch the exodus of businesses and jobs. This involves reform to tort law, reduction of taxes, streamlining and reduction of regulations, and elimination of structural barriers to competition. Second priority is to make schools more effective. Half of the state budget is spent on education, and the amount per student is comparable to other states. Results are not. I believe competition for education funds, and for students, will force public schools to become more cost-effective and produce better results. Third priority is public safety. Never cut police/fire for budget. |
